El Herradero Restaurant - Ciudad Juarez, Mexico
No
place serves up a big sizzling steak any better than the El Herradero
de Soto Restraurant in Juarez, Mexico.
Mmmm....excuse me, but my mouth waters every time
I think about El Herradero (which means “the rancher”).
Definitely one of the best bargains in Juarez and located only one
block to the east of the Hotel Villa Manport and within 5 minutes
from the Free Bridge, about any kind of steak you desire is available
here, cooked to perfection, and your bill, including the tip, will
not usually come to more than about $12 unless you order alcohol.
Rather
than just the usual combination of chips and salsa, you will be
served chips, pork skins, a delicious (and spicy!) red salsa, and
some of the best pico de gallo you have ever tasted. It is made
with extra fresh tomatoes, chili peppers, and other ingredients
every day.
Steak lovers really should click on this photo to
really get an idea of how appealing this large New York Steak truly
is. This one was ordered “tres cuartos” (3/4’s,
well done).
What did the New York steak cost? 99 pesos with
iced tea (about $10 in January, 2003). With a 20% tip you will be
out about $12.
