Restaurant Villa Del Mar - Ciudad Juarez, Mexico

The Villa Del Mar in Juarez, Mexico is a seafood
lover’s heaven: relaxed atmosphere, a variety of well
prepared dishes to choose from, and affordable prices.
There are at least two Villa del Mars in Juarez,
actually, the one reviewed here on Vicente Guerrero across
from the Rio Grande Mall and a larger restaurant next door
to the equally highly recommended Mariscos
D’Matazlan on Avenida de Las Americas.

As you can see, the interior is clean and
upbeat. The clientele is almost exclusively local. This is
definitely a family restaurant.
Above is the Fiesta
de Camarónes, which is the best shrimp
dinner I have ever had anywhere. You get six fried shrimp,
six shrimp cooked in egg batter, and five large shrimp (right)
which are wrapped in bacon. Each one has a sliver of fresh
jalapeño running down the middle, and the brown sauce
is spicy and makes a perfect enhancement for the copious portion
of rice served with the meal. The price of this dish was less
than $9 as of September, 2003. Even at that price it adds
up on a monthly basis when you can't live without this meal
at least once a week. It is served with a fresh seafood soup
and salad not shown here.

Another great thing about the Villa Del Mar
is that this restaurant is constantly offering appealing specials.
I have had lunch or dinner at this restaurant
over 40 times and have never been disappointed.
