Nightlife - Ciudad Juarez, Mexico
Juarez, Mexico has been famous for it’s exciting nightlife since the U.S. prohibition in the 1920s. The entire downtown area along Avenida Juarez, in fact, turns into party central after about 9 p.m. This web site may never bring you a great deal of information about the nightlife of Juarez for the simple reason the author is simply not a bar person. If you are still young (or just high spirited), however, there is a new web site which has a wealth of information about the city's nightclubs at www.enfiestate.com. Go there and click on their "EnLugares" (places) link for the names and locations of the hottest spots in
town. It definitely focuses on the youth culture across the border.
Here are a few items for you, however, for
you more tranquil types.
If you like to dance, Salon Mexico is a good place accostumed to having tourists as guests. If in the mood for a quiet, romantic setting you should go to the Hotel Lucerna. The music will be tranquil, and it’s nice to sit by the big window overlooking this 5-star hotel’s beautiful swimming pool. Feeling a bit more adventuresome? The bar at the Hotel Villa Manport is a great place to become acquainted with
the local people. Due to its presence on the guide and word of mouth, this hotel now gets a robust American trade and has to be considered on the beaten path. Feeling even more adventuresome and wanting to stray into the really local bars? Well, I can't recommend you do so. I highly do not recommend you single guys looking for girls go to strictly local bars. Getting into competition for the attention of the local ladies in a different culture in a place where alcohol is consumed and you don't speak the language is simply not a good idea. Stick to el centro where everyone is used to seeing tourists and wants your business. Just be sure to read the “Word of Caution” and "Driving
in Juarez, Mexico" pages before diving into the bar scene.
