Here is a look at just one of the many stores selling quality glasses and contact lenses on Avenida Juarez. They are found everywhere in Juarez, of course, but I chose a strore on Ave. Juárez because most visitors will be walking across the Sante Fe Bridge. I had lost my primary pair of glasses a couple of months previously, and my backups were were 15 years old, so it seemed like a good idea to get another pair.

Having parked by the cathedral that day New Look Opticas was the first place I came to, on the east side of the street about three blocks north of Ave. 16 de Septiembre (see map). I had priced glasses in Juárez before, so I knew the $70 for eye exam, frames, glasses, and clip on sun shades was just about right (May, 2005). Why shop any further?

There were quite a number of frames to choose from, as you can see here. The counter in the foreground contains more frame selections, and several display cases were located on the opposite side of the store. I selected a lightweight frame.
