Mei-Ken Lou Restaurant - Ciudad Juarez, Mexico
Another reasonably priced Chinese Restaurant, the Mei Ken
Lou has a very relaxed atmosphere, good service, and excellent
food. Since it is located close to the Free Bridge on Hermanos
Escobar, I had been seeing the Mei Ken Lou for over two years
and finally decided to check it out one slow Sunday afternoon.
I
was impressed with the tasteful decor immediately and was
very much in the mood for the tranquil Chinese music playing
softly. Too often these days one is bombarded with loud music
in restaurants or, worse, the sound of a television blaring.
The
egg rolls were quite good...
But the main course was even better... camarónes
Ko Po Ding is a Mandarin dish served in a spicy sauce with
an interesting vegetable melody. It was very reasonably priced
at about $6.80 U.S. With the egg rolls and iced tea, the meal
came to about $12 before the tip.
This restaurant also has a delivery service.
If you happened to be staying at the nearby Hotel Villa Manport
and wanted to stay in, it would be a good choice. They also
have lunch specials priced between $5-$7 between 11 a.m. and
5 p.m. seven days a week.
