These fine blankets are made in Oaxaca, one of the southern Mexican states, by the indigenous Zapoteca people (the same people famous for their alebrejes sculptures). The blankets are wool/polyster blankets with patterns of diamonds, danzantes (dancers), or the famous Kokipeli, the mischief maker of indigenous folklore, always depicted with a flute.
